The Person Behind the Work

Ryan Cocks has spent more than a decade on the water. As a USCG 100 Ton Master certified captain and lifelong sailor, he has logged countless miles delivering boats up and down the East Coast, and he knows firsthand what it means to live aboard a vessel for days or weeks at a time. That experience shaped everything about how he approaches canvas and upholstery work: comfort matters, durability matters, and the fit has to be right for the boat and the people on it.

After several years doing custom canvas and upholstery work on the Florida Gulf Coast, Ryan is excited to bring that same level of care and craftsmanship to the DMV region. Every project gets his full attention, from the first conversation to the final stitch, and he takes real pride in delivering work that meets what you asked for and then some.

The sailbag chairs, totes, and accessories you will find on this site started as a passion project, a way to keep good material out of the landfill and put it back to work. That project has since become as much a part of the business as the canvas work itself. For Ryan, it is all connected: a love of the water, respect for the craft, and a belief that things built well should last.
